11/3 Mon Evening Update

Ashley was seen by her primary oncologist today. She sounded very optimistic on Ashley's condition and feels that her intestines have already begun heeling. Dr. Morgan is a brilliant oncologist, but she is very matter-of-fact and doesn't sugar coat anything. So for her to sound so optimistic is truly a good sign.

Dr. Morgan felt that we might be able to reintroduce food earlier than previously anticipated. Ash has been NPO (latin for "nil per os" or "nothing by mouth") for over a week and it breaks our heart each day when she asks for milk. Late last week when Ashley was still febrile her nurse brought her tylenol. Ash has never been a big fan of taking her meds by mouth, but after being NPO for so long she savored every last drop of that tylenol.

On a side note, it's so hard to believe tomorrow is election day?!? It kind of feels like our life has been stuck on "pause" since mid-September. Don't forget to vote!

Thank you to everyone that has been keeping Ashley in their prayers!!

Hi all, I will continue to pray for Ash and hopes she gets to eat by mouth soon. It is wonderful to hear that her doctor is so optimistic. Stay strong. Love and miss you all. Big hugs and kisses to Ash :-)
