We're waiting to go into surgery. She'll also need a blood transfusion before she is able to go into surgery. We don't know exactly what time her surgery will be, we've just been told after 12pm. The surgery will remove part of the tumor that is pressing her spine. They can't remove it all for a couple of different reasons, but the main one being that her little body couldn't handle that right now. I remember my mom going through a debulking surgery and it was really intense and she had a very difficult recovery. She'll be under general anesthesia for the surgery and we don't know exactly how long it will last. It may be 1-2 hours or it may be 5-6 hours.
We are now in Room 232 of the PICU.
