9/23 Tues Evening Update

Good news! She went into surgery just before 3pm and the neurosurgeon returned just after 6pm to tell us that all went well. So the pressure has been removed from her spinal cord. She'll have to wear a brace for about 3 months (which I'm sure she won't be happy about) and they will watch her for the next few years to make sure that her spine doesn't curve ... but for now we are just grateful that the risk of paralysis has been removed.

It is now almost midnight and she has been resting comfortably for the last 2 1/2 hours. She is still very responsive so when the nurses come to check her temperature and vital signs she still fusses a bit, but she is definitely not in pain and is able to sleep comfortably.

Tomorrow we await the biopsy results.

We had so many wonderful friends and relatives come visit today. We thank you all for your love and support!! You are all definitely helping Adrian, Lindsey and I remain strong throughout all of this.

MOST IMPORTANTLY THANK YOU ALL FOR KEEPING ASHLEY IN YOUR PRAYERS!!!!
