It was a really tough day for us and we are still processing what we've learned today. The pathology report came back and it was not what we were hoping to hear.
Ashley has a malignant rhabdoid tumor. It is a very rare and aggressive tumor. It has invaded her body in such a way that surgical removal is not an option right now. Our plan is to begin chemo as soon as possible with the goal of reducing the tumor down to a size where surgical removal could become an option in the future.
Aside from that news, we had some good moments today. She said Mommy, Daddy, and Mickey Mouse. She was very happy when she was able to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse before her MRI this evening. We had some difficult moments as well. They are still working to control her pain. The neurosurgeons said she looked amazing after her surgery yesterday. They told us most adults couldn't hold up as well as she did through the same surgery. She's amazingly strong and we are so blessed that she was brought into our lives.
Please continue to keep her in your prayers!!!
