9/24 Wed Morning Update

Ashley rested really well last night. The nurses have to check her vital signs every 2 hours and of course she doesn't like that, but just as soon as they would finish each time she went right back to sleep.

The nurses at Children's Memorial are amazing. Each change of shift, we think we have the best nurse... and the fact of the matter is that they are all wonderful.

So now we are awaiting the oncologist who will hopefully have biopsy results for us.

All that we really know right now is that she'll have to wear her neck brace for a few months and that she'll need physical therapy to restore her muscle tone (she hasn't been able to walk since last Thursday when she was first admitted to Hinsdale Hospital). We also know that we'll have to watch her spine for the next few years to make sure it doesn't curve which is a risk associated with the surgery she underwent yesterday.
