9/26 Fri Evening Update

Ashley had a really great day today!!! She had a lot of visitors ... all of whom help her realize just how much she is loved. We began our day with a bone scan. It wasn't very fun (imagine being sandwiched in a huge 5ft x 5ft metal machine for 2 hrs) but Ashley was so brave and halfway through it she just decided to take a nap. Then we met with the physical and occupational therapists who gave her some really cool space boots (or at least that's what they look like) to help her regain some of the muscle tone in her legs. We were finally able to hold her in our arms! The therapists wanted us to get used to holding her while keeping her neck aligned with her back. Both Adrian and I got to hold her and she was so happy. We were beyond ecstatic!

Chemo just got underway at 10pm. So far she is responding very well. Miraculously, she is still full of smiles!! We're keeping our fingers crossed that she doesn't have any adverse reactions.

Another big moment in our day was when Ashley was allowed to have a cookie. Her nurse overheard her asking for a "cookie" and gave us the go ahead to give her an Oreo. Ashley loved it!! I never thought I'd be so happy to see my child have an Oreo.

Chemo continues tomorrow! Thank you for checking in to read our blog. Thank you for keeping Ashley in your prayers!
