Organizations worth mentioning ...

We just wanted to share some information on organizations that have touched our lives recently:

Beads of Courage

Through the program children tell their story using colorful beads as meaningful symbols of courage that commemorate milestones they have achieved along their unique treatment path.

Songs of Love Foundation

The mission of the Songs of Love Foundation is to create personalized, original songs for children and teens with chronic or life-threatening illnesses. Ashley had a song written for her and the moment it arrived we put it in our CD player and then proceeded to listen to it 99 more times because of Lindsey's persistent requests to hear it "again...and again... and again." Of course her favorite part of the song was where her name was mentioned as being Ashley's big sister and best friend. : )

Make-A-Wish Foundation - "Believe" Campaign
Our family has supported this organization for many years, and in a recent email I learned about the "Believe" campaign which is being sponsored by Macy's. Beginning on November 9, children across the country are invited to drop off their letters – stamped and addressed to Santa At The North Pole – at any Macy’s store in the Santa Mail letterbox. For each letter received, Macy’s will donate $1 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation up to $1 million to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. This is such a simple, thoughtful and fun activity to do with your family. I would highly encourage everyone to participate!
