Another organization that deserves mention ....

The story of the Kerr family is one that truly inspires me to find ways to give back once we have weathered our storm. In 2002, Cindy Kerr's son was diagnosed with cancer and she began making pillowcases to brighten up his hospital room and to put a smile on his face. He loved it and so she began making pillowcases for other children on the Oncology Unit at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. From there ConKerr Cancer was born. Since then the pillowcase project, A Case for Smiles, has grown in amazing ways providing more than 47,000 pillowcases for seriously ill children in hospitals. Ashley has been a recipient of these awesome pillowcases on more than one occasion and they have definitely brought her comfort during her hospital stays. We were at CMH for Halloween and Ashley was in isolation at the time so she was not allowed any outside contact. However, one of her nurses brought her a fun pillowcase with a Halloween print that definitely helped brighten her day.
